Use PSYCH-K® to help overcome grief and loss

PSYCH-K® helped me to overcome the trauma of loosing my daughter, and live a much better life.

A lot of what I have done over the last decade and a half has been as a result of my reaction to the death of my teenage daughter in June 2006. Unsurprisingly, this event had a dramatic and traumatic impact on me. It is not something you ever recover from – which only really hit home after around the 10 year mark! This realisation in itself heralded a whole new set of emotions and despair. 

I did what I had to to survive in the early years. A big part of this was moving between countries and searching for experiences to fill the gap. Which, of course, it never did. I had some amazing experiences and met some wonderful people along the way. Grief is not depression, and in some ways the first few years were easier as I felt I could do whatever I wanted just to get on with life. Time did not so much heal me as return me to normal expectations of life, including career wise. 

Of course, feeling fine is very different to being fine. My running away as a means of coping continued and bouts of depression and despair returned. Grief is not linear, and the feeling that comes with spiralling back to a state of mind you thought you had left can be devastating. 

During a yoga retreat in Turkey in 2019, the opportunity to experience a PSYCH-K® session arose. I was feeling quite good about life at that point in time. I had a new job lined up in Uzbekistan for August and was just about to head on an overland trip through Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan. I took the session with the wonderful Tina Shoults to explore some anxiety I had been experiencing around missing flights. Within five minutes of chatting I was in tears and we uncovered unreleased trauma linked to the ambulance ride with my daughter, who was in a coma, to the airport in Doha ready to take an air ambulance back to the UK. The subconscious is a tricky beast!

During the session we worked on this trapped trauma and I was so impressed, I knew immediately PSYCH-K® was something I needed to know more about. I had a further session with Tina during a particularly challenging period at work. This addressed further trauma and also helped to clarify what it was I wanted out of life. And PSYCH-K® was definitely going to be part of that.

Covid meant a delay to me attending the PSYCH-K® workshops, but I was finally able to attend the Basic Workshop in London in July 2022. I saw even more benefits during these three days and went on to do the Advanced and Master Facilitator Workshops, and a Divine Integration Retreat later that summer and autumn.

It does not need to be something as difficult as overcoming grief and loss, PSYCH-K® is a wonderful tool to help with anything from trauma to just day to day life and relationships. I now use it regularly to keep me focused and I have helped friends and family members with various changes they wanted to make in their lives.
